About Us

Steve -
If you’d told me ten years ago that I would be a wedding photographer, I’d have thought you were crazy. Wedding photography was for old men with tripods who liked bossing mother-in-laws around! Fast forward a few years and here I am shooting tons of weddings every year and I LOVE my job!

People are now after something completely different when it comes to wedding imagery and our couples trust us to do what we do, make them look amazing and capture the fun, the expressions, the relationships, the details, those once-in-a-lifetime moments… In short, the story of their day. Along the way we discover other wedding suppliers who are doing something fantastic and creative and we can’t wait to tell our brides about them. In fact, we want to tell ALL brides about them! And so, Bridal Soup was born…

Our family friend and (whispers) amazing photographer, Emily has helped me create a place where we can show off our cool friends and hopefully find new ones, and at the same time we can let brides-to-be know about wedding stuff we love. We’ll update it all the time but we’ll never feature anything that we wouldn’t want to see at our own weddings :)

When I’m not photographing happy couples and their friends, I’m usually shooting nasty rock bands or at home with my wife Evelyne and our two gorgeous boys, Elliott & Isaac.

Hmmm where to start?…well I am a photographer who loves anything vintage and a girl who likes fake moustaches, photo booths, cupcakes and good music.

If you’d have told me 10 months ago I would now be a wedding photographer I would have laughed.  A lot.  If you had said that I would also be contributing to a wedding planning blog I think I would have fallen off my chair!  I heart photography so much but for others to look at my photos and love them too is just THE best feeling.

I was given my first DSLR camera on Christmas Day 2008 and the following day, Boxing Day my boyfriend, Pete asked me to marry him.  I started researching weddings and found the most amazing, creative, beautiful images from all over the world and said to myself… I want to take pictures like that.

We still haven’t managed to get married yet (yes, I know Mum we’re working on it).  But I am so excited that we seem to be doing it at a time when weddings are evolving into something unique and really creative.  I can’t wait to share with all our ‘Soupies’ all the wonderful wedding stuff that we find and fall in love with (I’ll end up with everything we find at my own wedding!) and I have a funny feeling that I’m going to make some lovely new friends along the way.

When I’m not taking photographs I do a bit of acting, sign language (which is my other passion), spend time with my fiance Pete, attempt to decorate my house and look after my cat Maximo.
